I can’t believe Nationals begin this weekend! After months of preparation it’s so exciting to think that in just a few days I will be in Toronto with over 60 other girls competing for the title of Miss Teenage Canada 2016.
On July 24th, 2016 a new Miss Teenage Canada will be crowned at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto. The winner will have the incredible opportunity to represent Canada at various events, and international pageants. Miss Teenage Canada 2016 will also have the responsibility of being a role model for youth across the nation.
Sign Source Solutions Ltd. has generously decided to donate a banner to the Miss Teenage Canada organization. As a result, all of the delegates have been challenged to channel their inner ~artiste~ and design a new Miss Teenage Canada Rollup Banner.
After completing some pre-competition stretches, and saying a few words of self-affirmation, I set to work to complete this artistic challenge. However, as any modern self proclaimed ~artiste~ knows, the creative process is not a speedy one. For the first little bit, I hit a bit of what is the graphic designer’s equivalent of a writers block, wherein my computer screen looked a little bit like Spongebob’s essay on “What not to do at a Stoplight.”
After what seemed like an eternity, inspiration finally struck, and my creativity kicked into high gear. After multiple attempts to capture the perfect photo, many “How To” youtube videos, and staying up waaaay past my bedtime I finally completed my design.
***DRUM ROLL PLEASE***
I now present to you my labour of love; the product of my blood, sweat, and tears…
On coronation night, a representative from Sign Source Solutions Ltd. will pose with the winning banner design and designer. So let’s keep our fingers crossed.
With only a few days left before Nationals begin, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me so far in my journey. This Sunday, July 17th, 2016 voting will commence for the People’s Choice Award. The delegate with the most votes will be fast-tracked to the TOP 20 on coronation night. I will post details as to how to vote when further information becomes available. Thank you all, for your continuous support; whether you have contributed financially, emotionally, or spiritually I am beyond grateful and will do my very best to make all of you proud.
